Hidden in plain sight, beyond the eyes of the everyday world, exists a magical ecosystem where sugar flowers bloom. Delicate, glowing blossoms that produce the sweetness that fuels joy across the Earth.
At the heart of this world are The Bukos . Mysterious coconut beings who exist not as he or she, but simply as they are. Playful, curious, and full of life, the Bukos are the guardians and cultivators of sweetness.
They tend to the sugar flowers with care, harvesting their essence and transforming it into the sweets, treats, and delights that people around the world enjoy every day.
Because without the Bukos…
The sugar flowers would wither. The world would lose its sweetness. And humanity, left only with bitterness, would become salty.
Each year, during holidays and moments of celebration, the Bukos travel across the world, quietly delivering sweetness where it’s needed most. Bringing joy, balance, and a little bit of magic back into people’s lives.
Told through vertical, live-action animated shorts, Buko captures small, playful moments of these guardians at work and at play. Whether baking, brewing, or simply enjoying the sweetness they help create.
